What is the NDIS?

At Comfort Care, our mission is to empower individuals through compassionate and personalised NDIS support. We’re dedicated to improving lives with tailored care solutions that encourage independence, dignity, and overall wellbeing.

How the NDIS Works

1. Check Eligibility

Start your journey towards the support you deserve.

2. Create a plan with the NDIA

Work with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) to design a personalised NDIS plan.

3. Receive supports

Access a wide range of services, funding, and resources through the NDIS and local community programs.

4. Choose providers

Partner with registered and experienced providers who understand your needs.

Self-managed

You handle the budget and pay providers directly.

Plan-managed

A registered plan manager handles payments and admin.

NDIA-managed

NDIA pays providers directly from your plan.

Managing Your NDIS Plan

You have full control over your NDIS budget, choose your own providers, and pay them directly. This option gives you maximum flexibility, allowing you to tailor your supports exactly to your needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

To access the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), you’ll need to meet certain eligibility requirements. These include:

  • Age – You must be under 65 years of age when you apply.
  • Residency – You need to be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident, or hold a Protected Special Category Visa.
  • Disability requirements – You must have a permanent and significant disability that affects your ability to take part in everyday activities.
  • If you’re not happy with your current provider or simply find another one that better suits your needs, you have the right to switch. Before making the change, it’s a good idea to: Check your service agreement – Some providers may require notice before ending services.

  • Confirm your plan budget – Make sure you have enough funding available for the supports you want.
  • Find a new provider – Choose a provider who understands your goals and offers the services you need.
  • Plan-Managed

  • A registered NDIS plan manager looks after your funding.
  • They receive invoices from your service providers and pay them on your behalf.
  • You don’t have to worry about paperwork or keeping financial records.
  • You can still choose both registered and unregistered providers.
  • It gives you flexibility without the stress of handling the budget yourself.
  • If you’re not satisfied with your plan, you have the right to speak up. You can request a review, provide feedback, or raise any concerns with your provider or directly with the NDIS. It’s important that your plan works for you, so changes can be made if your needs or circumstances aren’t being met.
